Coronavirus – We are here to help
Many of us may be planning holidays and visiting friends, colleagues and places we love abroad.
While there is still some uncertainty, you may have some questions about your Currensea travel debit card.
Are you open for business?
Currensea continues to operate as normal.
You can apply for a new Currensea travel debit card, ask us questions about your existing travel debit card, or find out anything you’re unsure about with regards to travelling. Your Currensea travel debit card will work as normal, and we’re here to support you.
Am I protected for flights or hotels I paid for using my Currensea travel debit card?
Yes, transactions made using your Currensea travel debit card are protected by the Mastercard Chargeback scheme. You should always try and resolve directly with the merchant in the first instance, but if they are unwilling to refund or let you change the dates then do get in touch with us at help@currensea.com.
Can I use my Currensea travel debit card for online purchases?
For those of you in the UK, if you're shopping online and buying items from abroad in foreign currency, your Currensea travel debit card can still be used to save on charges.
Important information
Be extra careful of fraud, phishing and scams
As always, it is important that you protect your cards, passwords and online banking details. Several media outlets have recently reported that fraudsters are taking the opportunity to prey on unsuspecting people by email or texts. These emails and messages may look very official – in the form of requests for donations or tax refund schemes. To be safe, do not click on email links and go to the websites directly. Do not hand over any of your personal information if you are not sure.
Coronavirus travel need-to-knows
The situation is changing fast, so we recommend looking at this comprehensive guide published by MoneySavingExpert.com which they are updating regularly.
